So today we have been married for 2 years! It’s been the craziest time and it’s only going to get crazy better with our little one coming in October. Marriage is hard work but the more we grow in our marriage the more I’m in awe of how much Jesus loves us. Marriage, for us, has been one of those things that has made us so aware of how awful we can be as people, but also it's been the most gracious, humbling, loving experience! It still chokes me up to think of times where I am so lost in my awfulness, and yet, I find Kasey loving me even more.
But here we are two years later. We have had a lot of laughs, a lot of tears(which we expect more of both), we lost puppy, we found new puppy in search for our lost puppy, we had the lost puppy come back, have a baby being formed, have had close friends be married(which also makes us reflect to that time when we were getting married and reading books, listening to married couples, doing everything we thought was right and saying to ourselves… we will never be the couple that fights over “this”, or does “that”…. and now we laugh because we absolutely knew nothing! We have fought over “this”, and we have done “that”!
This years anniversary has been so nostalgic for me because 4 years ago Kasey and I took this same trip as just friends. Over tea we came up with this crazy idea to have a road trip with no sleep… we wanted to see who could go the longest without sleeping. We stopped at the most random places, had mini sleep challenges that would temp us to fall asleep, and while driving on this trip we had no Idea where we were going, but thats who we were. To see some of the same places now, the place where we stopped to get firewood for our beach bonfire, or the gas station where we asked for directions on how to get to the beach, or the lighthouse where I asked Kasey to jump over a cone… has been great!
Thank you My Love for that adventure, enduring the cold winds, playing good music, and being the greatest!
